Pär Karlberg was born and raised in Sundsvall, Sweden, where he grew up playing basketball, floorball, and doing martial arts. In Sweden he coached floorball for several years before moving to the United States in 2008 to pursue a degree in Exercise Science. He graduated from Utah Valley University in 2012 and later served as an intern coach for Brigham Young University’s Strength and Conditioning Department. In 2012 he gained certifications in Strength and Conditioning (CSCS), USA Weightlifting (USAW), and Functional Movement Screening (FMS).
Pär pursued a Master of Sports Sciences from Florida State University and graduated April 2016. At FSU he worked with numerous sports teams in strength and conditioning and became a certified Sports Nutritionist (ISSN). Pär has most recently worked for former NFL linebacker Ernie Sims at his gym where he was a Sports Performance Trainer.
He loves to train the whole, balanced athlete, and his number one goal is to improve the overall performance in the athletes he trains. He works hard to build a relationship of trust with each athlete and to provide a positive learning environment. His workouts include performing sport-specific movements in a safe way in order to help prevent injuries and improve athlete’s strength, speed, power, and agility. Pär is happily married to Jackie Karlberg and the couple has two children, Henrik and Kaisa.
